New Site Design/Features now Live!

With much excitement our much awaited website update/redesign is now live! We wish to thank RG Pacific (www.rgpacific.com) for all of their hard work! There are still a few things that are being integrated in the new site (and there are a few bugs we are working out), but please enjoy this newly functioning site! Some of the new features include:

New High Performance Desktop Ordered

Recently, the Desktop Computer that was used to created many of the design (graphics, web, print, video, etc.) for the organization has been going out. After replacing the hard drive, and RAM, it is clear that the processor, too, is starting to feel the weight of its age. To respond to this, we have just purchased a new High Performance Desktop PC from Dell. This will hopefully last us for the next few years and will allow us to do our graphic and design work a lot faster! This is goign to come in handy as we plan to edit and upload several video clips from our Italy Pilgrimage once the new site is live!

New Website Changes/Features Coming Soon!

In an effort to respond to the several security threats we have faced, as well as adding in the rest of the features to this site we have been longing for, "The Crucifixion and the Shroud" has contracted RG Pacific Web Design to redo our backend, add in a lot more security, and add in the final features. This process will take 5-6 weeks. You should see the changes live mid September!

A newer layout, with additional tools and features.
A New (and usable) user area and member database, with member-driven content and features throughout the site.

New Museum of Shroud Gallery Added!

Today we added more pictures to the 2010 Shroud Exposition Gallery and a new Gallery, the Museum of the Shroud, was added. This gallery has pictures from the incredible exhibit at the International Museum in Turin, Italy. Make sure you check it out to see some incredible photos of items from the Shroud's history!

Shroud Pilgrimage Great Success!!

Yesterday we returned from our 10 day pilgrimage, the highlight was seeing the Shroud of Turin during one of it's last days of public exposition. This was truly a powerful moment--and we were able to film it! Very shortly we will be putting the video and pictures of this trip on the website-please come back soon to see them!

UPDATE: (6/12/2010) an issue in our backend that prevented us from doing some updates has been fixed. This coming week the video and pictures from the trip will be posted!

New Design, New Security, New Search to be added to site!

Responding to the previous hacking attack we had on our site, we have entered a new contract with RG Pacific to remove the malicious code, add in new security, and transfer servers of our site. On the user end, there will also be a few new changes. You will soon see a slightly new layout with a new user bar that will have a host of new features. We will also be integrating a much better, high-end site search that will not only search our webpages, but the various PDF files we also have. You will see these changes take place over the course of the month of May, so keep checking back!

UPDATE : (6/12) The transfer of the site to the new server has been completed--including a fix to a problem in our backend. The Virus has been completely removed from our site, and new security measures are being taken. Soon you will see a new user bar that will have some new great features and will assist the overall aesthetic of the site. The wooden beam on the menu bar will also soon scroll down with the pages and not just "disappear".

Crucifixion and the Shroud Website Hacked

Just one Day before the Shroud of Turin went on public exposition, our website was hacked and malicious code was inserted into the site (April 9th). We apologize if anyone visited this site since the attack. We have been working with our programmers at RG Pacific to remove the code and add in new security. Because of this attack, we have not been able to advertise this site or do much on the exposition as we did not want to lead people to our site while the code was on it. Once the Google block page is removed, we will be adding a lot of content for the exposition.

We are working on a Partnership with Treasures of the Holy Land!

We are currently working on a partnership with the company "Treasures of the Holy Land" that specializes in replicas of Biblical items made directly in Israel. This will become connected to our exhibit and our online store (our hope is to launch an online store with phase 2 of our website development plan). Stay tuned for more info!

A new page was launched that details the history of "The Crucifixion and the Shroud" Website. Here you can see snapshots of the website through the years and learn about the several steps to make this site what it is, as well as what is in store for the website in the future! Functionality restored to CrucifixionShroud.com!

After a multitude of web programmers, freelancers, and a couple of companies, The process of getting CrucifixionShroud.com up and running again has finally gone in a positive direction. In August of 2009, The Crucifixion and the Shroud hired RG Pacific to correct the many errors of the website and restore its functionality. This local, Los Angeles based company has been pulling it off! On November 2, 2009, the first phase of this project was complete-restoring the Shroud Tour Pages and making the Shroud Memorial Functional, as well as a variety of other tasks. There is still more work ahead, including redesigning the Global Directories, the User areas, and a new menu bar with a working, integrated Search tool and many other features. Stay tuned for more updates!

Spear of Destiny Replica Added to the Exhibit

The Crucifixion and the Shroud has recently purchased a replica of the famed "Spear of Destiny" for its exhibit. The Spear of Destiny is believed by many to be the lance that pierced Jesus' side. The Spear of Destiny was also owned by Hitler and is believed by some to have given him the power to carry out his evil.

This replica Spear is a 1:1 scale of the real thing. It is made of a bronze and resin mixture with a gold foil over it. We purchased this replica from Reelart and we will have a picture of it in our Exhibit Photo Gallery soon!

Livewire Radio Show Recap

Many thanks to KWRE and Mike Thomas, host of the station's "Livewire" program for having Chris Knabenshue, presenter of "The Crucifixion and the Shroud" on their program April 4, 2007. This marks the first time that "The Crucifixion and the Shroud" has been made public via radio.

During the one hour show, they talked about various aspects of the Crucifixion, its importance to the Christian community and fascination to the world. They also discussed at length the Shroud of Turin, especially focusing on misconceptions surrounding its carbon dating, seeing how it is connected to Jesus, and its history in Turin.
